ARDSI, Calcutta Chapter is a registered NGO which provides a comprehensive range of services aimed at holistic dementia management. In dementia management, ARDSI Calcutta considers dementia as a condition of life and not a disease only. So, in providing dementia management services, utmost professionalism of doctors and experts is joined by social workers’ humane approach to the person inflicted by dementia, his/her family and care givers.
Apart from care and support for people with dementia, their families and care givers, ARDSI Calcutta takes out dementia awareness campaign far and wide. To weed out the myths and stigma attached to dementia and empower people with correct knowledge, talks by experts, computer presentations, video shows, various memory events are regularly arranged in different communities and organizations.
Along with awareness campaign, memory screening is also done to give the people an
opportunity to get their memory conditions checked. Depending on this primary screening, people are advised, if required, to contact specialist doctors. ARDSI Calcutta arranges memory clinic conducted by specialist doctors which gives the people a low-cost option of getting medical help.
